    Cisco 2600 router problem

Problem: I have 19 cisco 2600 routers. When I connect two of them in serial 1 links nothing happens.

Test: I wanted to see if it was my serial card, but it isn't. serial 0 works great. That is for all 19 routers. I had the same problem before two years ago. I had to do something to the routers , but I don't remember.

    Solution: Nothing right now.

    Hey!
What exactly are you trying to do? If you are trying to route two networks connected on each router to the other, you will need to configure it...! Static or dynamic routing... But i don't understand what you want to do from the information that you have provided...! Please be more detailed and specific...!

Make sure the IP address of the interfaces are in the same subnet for both interfaces - You can't ping each other if there is a mistake in the IP/Subnet

For the serial interfaces you will need a DTE/DCE crossver cable and the DCE end will need to provide clocking information.

    Re: Cisco 2600 router problem

I attend a Communtiy college. I work at our Networking and communcation lab. We have 19 routers and in that 19 routers all of them are having problems connecting two routers. The DTE/DCE are correct. I know the clockrate needs to be set on DCE. I did a command, that enable serial 1 to work. I know its not NO shutdown.
