Standard Chartered Customers Beware

Here is another warning about how your computer can be accessed and your account information leaked to the wrong people.

Websense Security Labs ThreatSeeker Network has discovered a phishing campaign targeting customers of Standard Chartered Bank.

The phishing email tells recipients that there is a new message in their secure mailbox and attempts to trick them to go to a spoofed website, which asks them to enter their logon information. The aim is to steal account information.

Another phishing attack on Standard Chartered was reported back in 2006 - but that was focused more on their Hong Kong customer base.

Phishing and other virus attacks are on the rise. We had recently informed you about how Windows OS users across the globe have been worried sick about the Conficker worm striking again this April 1 and how you can protect your computer from it.

This is the very serious issue and i think everybody should avoid doing online transaction. Its really a risky procedure to deal with.

So, be careful while withdrawing money from ATMs. Few of the points to be taken care:

• Keep transaction slip with you when void transactions occur, as this is the only proof.
• Remember your phone banking password (TPIN) to register complaint.
• Register a complaint immediately after this kind of transaction. If you do not, you may loose your money.
