Unable to open port netgear dg834g

Hi all, I have been trying to open a port now for some time. ive been successful with opening the ports for my xbox but now need to open them for limewire. my friend has some photos of a vacation and wants me to download from here. I have netgear dg834g router installed on my computer, I have tried out lot of options out there. But no gain.

After a bit of reading, try to use MS_DOS prompt to check if ports are open. telnet <enter>. open <ip address> <port>.

Netgear does not support loopback. you will not be able to connect to these ports from Inside the LAN.

get around my DC++ problem by simply changing the passive to active setting manually.

It should be set to active. Im confused.

Also make sure your ISP doesnt block ports.

Try the following option Enter 192.168.1.1 on your web broswer (might be different, itl say on the router) go to port forwarding and add a custom service.

youl have to make one for each port

so for 443 start port 443 end port 443

call the service whatever you want and select tcp

The last one will be tcp and udp start port 10070 end port 10080

Put your details in the screen that comes up when you are setting up your Port:

    Name - Anything you want
    Select - UDP
Type in Start an Finish Ports

    then Click Apply.

    Next select Firewall Rules

    Under Inbound Services selct ADD.

Select the Service that you have just created
    Action - ALLOW always
Send to LAN Server - your PC's IP Address
Leave everything else as is and click Apply.

Ensure the Inbound Service that you have just configured is enabled.
