    Problems encrypting wireless connection

    Hello,

I have a problem with configuring my wireless access point so that I can secure my wireless network. It is a D-Link DWL-G700 AP that is connected to a ZyXEL router from Cybercity. When I enter the default IP address 192.168.0.50 I get just to know that the page can not be displayed.

The manual talks about "you will need to assign your computer a static IP within the same range as tea DWL-700APs IP address for the purpose and configuring the DWL.700AP

I am already looking forward to your reply

    Re: Problems encrypting wireless connection

Problem is that you PC most likely has IPen 10.0.0.X and Access Point 192.168.0.50 and so can not talk together

    1. Plug your computer directly to the access point.
    2. Give your computer a static IP, for example. 192.168.0.49 and Under mask 255.255.255.0
    3. Open Browser and wrote http://192.168.0.50 and now you should be in contact with the Access Point.
    4. Changing the Access Points IP for example. 10.0.0.50
    5. Move your computer back into the router / switch and change IPen to Auto and now you should have your router at Cybercity http://10.0.0.1:2033 & Access Point, http://10.0.0.50

If you do not know how you change IP, so here is a guide for Windows XP:
    1. Start / Settings / Control Panel / Network Connections / "Choose your server"
    2. Press "Properties"
    3. Highlight "Internet Protocol (TCP / IP" and press "Properties"

So I have tried your proposed solution of.

I changed the IP that you describe.

I took the LAN cable from the PC out of the router and put this in the access point (and removed the lan cable that went from the router into the access point). Keys see your point 3 http://192.168.0.50 and get just the information that the page can not be displayed.

Is there a light in the "Ethernet / Lan" on the access point when you are connected access point to PC? you may have a "crossed wire" to another, or a hub / switch "

Start / Programs / Accessories / Command Prompt "what happens if you type ping 192.168.0.50 (So with the changed ip and cable between the PC and access point?
