100 Mbps card provides only 10 Mbps

    hi,
I have a problem with my NIC. I got a new 10/100 Mbit network card installed, because onboard was broken. However, I have now still only 10 Mbps. If I were in Device Manager under properties of my NIC and go to Advanced in the media value of "Automatic" to "100 Mbit / s" switch, he says to me that that network cable is disconnected. When I get back to "Automatic" or "10 Mbit / s" switch, everything works again. The driver is automatically installed and update nothing happens. I'm not sure if I ever had 100 Mbps.

Maybe creating the device / switch with which you're not Connected more than 10Mbps.

the problem is known by me, had sort of times with my computer ...
it may be that the cable with only 10 Mbits / s is designed? or is the network card was already older.

    hi,
run "ethtool" to get more information about the status of your connection. also consider the switchport you are connected to, does it handle 10/100Mbps...?

Re: 100 Mbps card provides only 10 Mbps

I have now, a SpeedCheck made on the Internet and shows me that I have only 1,000 kb / s download speed had. Another PC at exactly the same network cable, however, has about 12,000 kb / s download speed. And I just do not understand why. It can only lie on my PC.

If I were in my PC but on the status of the Internet is going as 14.5 Mbps, but as what I just mentioned not long reach.
