| Creating network shares
Hello, I'd like to share any type of files, large and small (images, videos, software, tutorials, icons ...) over the Internet with my relatives. that would especially have an interface as a website to navigate easily in the shared folders. I also wants the files are hosted on the internet and any security. Can give me the best solution to share files, faster and easier? Thank you in advance. |

| Re: Creating network shares
It is possible to create a share from the command prompt by typing: net share <share name>=<drive>:<dir> /remark="<description>" e.g. net share john=c:\data\johndrv /remark="Johns drive" A share can also be created using explorer: 1. Start Explorer (Start - Programs - Windows NT Explorer) 2. Right Click on a directory and select "sharing" 3. Click the Sharing tab, and select "Shared as" 4. Enter a description and click OK 5. The directory will now have a hand on the directory It is possible to add a $ to the end of the share so it will appear hidden, and not visible from a network browse. |

open Remote Desktop by going to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Remote Desktop: Click on Options, then click on Local Resources click on More tab, and then choose drives: Click on Ok. then click on Connect. Once on your terminal server session, click on your “My Computer” icon, and the local disk drives on your computer should show up on your terminal server session If you don’t have access to My Computer icon, then click on Start and then click on Run and type \\tsclient\C that is if your directory you want to access on your computer is on the C drive, otherwise substitute C for your system specific letter. |
