How To Network : Mac OS with Windows XP?

    Hi there!
I have recently installed Mac OS on my computer [intel version]. And i already have another computer with Windows XP. Now i want to share Files on both the computer to save disk and not making redundant copies of the Multimedia files like music, images and videos. Can i make my XP to talk to Mac and vice-versa?
    Help guys!

    Hey!
Its easy to share files for Windows XP. Right-click on the folder you want to share of Windows XP click on sharing and security option. Click on share this folder. Now in the share name field make sure you give only one name like : "mycomputer" or "windows" and not multiword names to avoid any issues.

    • Now Access this folder from Mac.
    • Click on desktop so that finder is the active application.
    • Now from the Finder menu go to "Go>Connect To Server"
    • Now in the server address type "smb://computername/windows"
    • Replace 'computername with your computer name of windows and 'windows' to the folder name that you have shared.
    • If asked for username and password type the username and password that you use to login to windows.

This was all i was able to configure. You will need someone to help you out to share from Mac and access it on Windows.
