IP of the WHS with two network cards

i have the following problem. Had to satisfy two subnets with two boxes and two Fritz DSL connections. Since DHCP on two networks must be, two subnets to be created. A subnet with two DHCP servers would only be possible with an appropriate router, which is expensive, right? That connection between the subnets on WHS with a second network card are produced. Must be only with the WHS to a specific IP in the external network can access. WHS is therefore an IP 192.168.178.70 (3Com card) for connection to external network, and IP 192.168.179.70 (onboard card) for your own subnet, gateway is 192.168.178.1.

Now have the problem that the WHS is getting the IP of the 3-Com card ... 178.70), ie the foreign network, no matter how I change the IP address ('ve swapped). Since the WHS IP subnet from the alien has worked the port forwarding on the router (179.1 ...) Do not apply.
Someone knows what this is? Can I use the WHS to assign a fixed IP? or is there a possibility.

Re: IP of the WHS with two network cards

fixed IP allocation is on the characteristics of the network / TCP-IP for the adapter be reached via Remote Desktop,add the DHCP scope not the WHS-IP from the router again randomly assigned

-> FB xx179.x: DHCP from 100-254 / WHS IP 192.168.179.70 (3-com)
-> FB xx178.x: DHCP from 100-254 / WHS IP 192.167.178.70 (onboard)

the Frizbox can also determine the IP due to the MAC address - believe in the menu Network / NAT.

You have therefore LAN1 with Router1 and default gateway Router1 and Router2 and LAN2 with the default gateway Router2, I have the right to read? LAN1 and LAN2 are physically separated, or there is already a connection?But if the two networks physically connected, check again in the TCP / IP properties, whether an IP alias can register.

Re: IP of the WHS with two network cards

I assume that the subnet mask to the server on every network connection to 255.255.255.0 stands? If so, I would try the subnet mask on the server 255.255.0.0 at times to put an end to all IP addresses in the range 192.168.xx access. If this does not help, you could have the two networks through a router (really a pure router, not a DSL modem with built Routr or something) and then connect the server in one of the two sub-networks depend.
