Unable to Ping Windows Vista PC

How can I turn on "allow incoming echo request "on Vista so I can ping it from another machine?

Check the icmp settings of windows

Start>>Run>>firewall.cpl>>Advanced>>Click "Settings" under ICMP

the only option that should be checked is "Allow incoming echo request", hope this helps.

I tried out but this didn't work at all, is there any settings in my computer which does not allow me to take changes.

Two possibilities may be there for this:

1. A firewall program is blocking access to the computer.

2. Vista thinks that the computer is on a public network. Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center and configure it as a private network.
