| Error 0x80070035 unable to connect to Network share in Vista
hi, I have configured my internet connection on my laptop but not able to connect to the network with the all other network connected computer either through the share name or the IP address. This kind of problem I am not facing earlier, because I was able to connect in the past and also other people are able to connect OK right now. What might be the problem? Please help. |

open a command prompt. Type IPCONFIG /ALL - See if the laptop has an IP address, and if it's in the correct subnet. (compare with other computers) Then try PING 10.20.40.60 ie whatever no of the server or machine (replace with a known IP address on the LAN) if this fails then there's a fairly fundamental issue with the connection. Next, if that works, try PING machinename (obviously the name of a computer that's working OK) If the ping by IP works but this fails then you have a name-resolution problem. Hope this helps. Oh, and look in Add/Remove Programs for the words "Norton" or "Symantec"- and uninstall if found! |

Please also check the permission settings of C drive: 1. Please ensure C drive is shared. 2. Ensure NTFS Permissions are set as following: Administrators - Full Control (Apply To: This folder, subfolders and files) Everyone - Special - Traverse Folder/Execute File, List Folder/Read Data,Read Attributes, Read Extended Attributes, Read Permissions (Apply To: This folder only) NOTE: To check this permission, please click the Advanced button, selectthe Domain users entry in "Permission Entries" list, click Edit button. CREATOR OWNER - Full Control (Apply to: Subfolders and files only) System - Full Control (Apply To: This folder, subfolders and files) Users - Create Files/Wirte Data (Apply to Subfolders only) Users - Create Folders/Append Data (Apply to This folder and subfolders) Users - Read & Execute (Apply to This folder, subfolders and files) After that, please check if Users Shared Folder can be accessed from the workstation. Suggestion 2: This issue can happen when "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" is not enabled on SBS internal NIC. To correct this: 1. Open Network Connections. 2. Double click "Server Local Area Connection". 3. Click Properties. 4. Make sure that "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" box is checked. |
