Vaio Wireless Problems

I've been workin on this for quite some time now with no luck.

Vaio VGN-FW250J will not detect any wireless signals. I have a Linksys WRT160n wireless router that is working fine. There are also 5 other detectable signals in my building that I can pick up with my other machine.

During the setup process, the program prompts that the "wireless network adapter" is disabled or turned off. I have removed the driver and attempted to reload it from the sony site. However, it hasnt done anything.

If anybody could help out I would greatly appreciate it.

To slove the problem follow the step which given below

• Turn off everything, the modem, router, computer.
• Connect the modem to the router's WAN/Internet port.
• Connect the computer to one of the router's LAN/Network ports.
• Turn on the modem, wait for a steady connect light.
• Turn on the router, wait for two minutes.
• Boot the computer.

Do you have some button on this laptop for enabling/disabling the wireless connection? It might look silly but sometimes even I forget to press that button to enable the wireless. Just check it to be sure.

Also have you seen if the connection is enabled in Network Connection window? Just make sure it is enabled and setup is appropriate.

Button for wireless is on. But wireless isnt listed in network connections.

It sounds like you may need to reinstall the wireless driver. I would suggest going into the control panel and then add or remove programs and un-install the wireless driver, reboot your computer and then re-install the driver.

In that case,

are you using some kind of wireless adapter for the wifi connection? See to it that it is properly placed in the PCMCIA slot and also installed with correct drivers.

Other than that I don't think there should be any problem.
