    Verizon Launches Wireless Network Extender

Although the two units themselves are basically identical - promising to create your own CDMA mini-network, by routing cellphone calls and data over your broadband connection when Verizon’s own network is insufficient the difference comes in the pricing.

With the Network Extender, you can begin a call on the Network Extender network and enjoy uninterrupted transition to the nearest cell tower when leaving the Network Extender coverage area, provided alternative coverage is available.

The Network Extender is compatible with all Verizon Wireless phones as well as some handsets from many of the nation's leading carriers.

Network Extender access can be set to fit your needs. Just sign in to My Verizon to set the Network Extender preferences that are right for you. Your device is set to Open Access by default.

Managing priority access settings for your Network Extender is as easy as going online. Just sign in to My Verizon to set up your own managed network.
