    Generating GTP packets

    Hi,

I want to do some testing on GTP packets, but from what I understand, GTP packets are only present in the GPRS core network. Once the packets leave the GPRS network, the GTP headers are stripped off and the packets are no different from ordinary IP packets. So my question is are there any GTP packet generators that I can use to create GTP packets?

    Thank you.

Well, you can get more information here on wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPRS_Tunnelling_Protocol

    Re: Generating GTP packets

The chain of events that describes the evaluation is as follows:
    • Create a GTP session on GTP Firewall with end user IP “w.x.y.z”
    • Create a TCP session on Gi Firewall from Mobile Station (Linux PC3) “w.x.y.z”
    • Send PDP delete request/response to clear GTP tunnel in GTP Firewall.
    • Get the session with source ip “w.x.y.z” on Gi Firewall and check that the session has been cleared.
