    ASUS WL-167g USB 2.0 WLAN Adapter

    Hi
    I have purchased this adapter and installed with driver.then i connected it to usb port of my computer. It worked but after a while my system got hang. I had to reset my system. This happened many times (Almost every time !). I tried different usb ports. I have formatted and reinstalled XP. Then tried adapter. Still facing the same problem. can anybody help me please?

    Hello,
    Which motherboard you have? What chipset is on the board? It may require a BIOS update or the device may simply consume too much power for your USB controller, depending on how populated the controller is. If you had a powered external USB hub, this could be used to diagnose.

    Mobo is MSI 975X Platinum Motherboard

    I had the same problem with WL-167G.. after a while my PC frozen. I treid to disable a few services but nothing changes. I have a MSI KT333 motherboard VIA KT333 Chipset.

    I found a solution. Use the wireless adapter with an USB hub. Works perfect! hope this will work for you also . good luck
