Signal too low, how

a friend wants to connect with a key wifi sagem xg-760a, but the signal is too weak to connect to the livebox (but it is no bar reception). The computer is far away and separated by several walls. The livebox can not move and is next to another pc which is also connected to wireless side. So, I would like to know if there are usb wifi (or wireless card) with a better reception or how to receive the signal from the livebox. thank you
