Use of 4-pair cable PTT for RJ45 connections?

Good evening, I took the cable PTT EN8 strands that I connected to 2 RJ45 connectors to connect a microphone on my switch. Can my microphone does not have network, whereas in a RJ45 cable it works. I checked with my ohmetre connections are ok, so I understand that I did not take the right kind of cable? Does anyone confirm it?

RJ45 connectors are designed for cables CAT5 UTP Cat5e and cat6 but I do not understand what you want to do your microwave network

Re: Use of 4-pair cable PTT for RJ45 connections?

Yes this cable is not an Ethernet cable to twisted pairs.your ptt cable may not be twisted pair or if it was you did not use a good pair.but at the price or cost of the ethernet cable purchased in one piece. moreover the Ethernet cable consists of multistranded wirewhile the 4-pair wire ptt is rigid.

RJ45 connectors use contacts which need flexible and a good distance that can crash diameter in the range of each contact.for particular reason of rigid wire postal and telecommunications authorities can not establish a good continuity.

Technically there are 2 types of connections
  • if you connect computers directly 2 you must use a crossover cable.
  • if you use a hub or a switch or router, you must connect each computer to the hub by a cable law.

  • PTT cable is not suitable for the 100 Mb, just for the 10 Mb (it was used previously for ISDN). Attention also to the rigid that cause random contacts, there are special connection for this type of wire.
  • This is not cable wire Search the net for proper wiring (there are a pair who is willing oddly).
