Vista can not obtain an IP address

I want to connect to a Windows Vista network and a router {configured as DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) }. However, the router or other device does not support the DHCP BROADCAST and Vista refuses to connect to the network.

To resolve this issue, disable the DHCP BROADCAST flag in Windows Vista. To do this, follow these steps:

• Click Start

2. Start button, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.

3. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.

• Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\{GUID}
2. In this registry path, click the (GUID) subkey that corresponds to the network adapter that is connected to the network.

• On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value.

• In the New Value #1 box, type DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle, and then press ENTER.

• Right-click DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle, and then click Modify.

• In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

• Close Registry Editor.

Once the registry saved, follow the steps below:

• Press the "Windows" and press together the "R" in the fields of the window that appears type "regedit" and click OK.
  
• Go to the registry subkey and then click the following: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ Tcpip \ Parameters \ Interfaces \ (GUID)"
• Arrived here several registry subkeys are present, click the subkey (GUID) that matches the network adapter connected to the network.
  
• In the Edit menu click on "New and click DWORD Value 32 bits.
  
• In the field: "New Value # 1" type "DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle" and press Enter.
  
• Right-click your mouse on "DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle" and click the "Edit".
  
• In the "Value data" type "1" then click "OK".
  
• Close the Registry Editor and restart Windows Vista.
