Not able to Enable the SystemGuard!

Hello Friends,

I am getting this kind of error message for the first time in my life, the error message show the Yellow exclamation mark on the taskbar and the Popup dialog saying items need to be fixed.
I have also checked for the MSC also and I saw that SystemGuard is disabled. I click fix and it becomes enabled again.
The problem is also that whenever I restarts the computer every time I have to restarts its services which is very irritating.I also have to check during the scan and while start up of the system,because during scan itself became paused a couple of times.

I'm running MSC 8, Virusscan 12 on a windows XP (SP2) gateway.

click start.
Start run type in services.msc
Check to see if system guard had switched to manual instead of Automatic, so that it did not start on start up.
If it has change to automatic click apply ok.
Still l find that for some reason even though it has changed to auto it has been reverting to manual for no apparent reason.
Hope this helps as it has only just started happening in the last couple of weeks to me, possibly since McAfee update.

My systemguard keeps disabling as well. I used Virtual Tech and I still have the problem. I also did a system restore and it didn't help. I'm fed up with McAfee.

Go to McAfee - log into online chat. There you will find downloadable patch and install a patch. I also don't know why systemgurad stopped running either time but this works.
