ThinkLogical New Velocity USB KVM Switch with a 25-mile range

Overview
The Logical Solution - Single-Mode Fiber Optic KVM Extension Breaks Distance Barriers with Unsurpassed Signal Quality

Thinklogical’s patent-pending VelocityKVM is a fiber optic KVM extension system that utilizes single-mode fiber optic technology to transmit and receive the digital video pulse stream without any alteration or interpretation of the original signal (embedded keyboard, mouse, USB 1.1 and audio signals are also transmitted). The VelocityKVM is also single fiber capable and has optional support for USB 2.0 signals.

Why Fiber……and Why Single-Mode Fiber?
The limit on how much bandwidth or data that can be carried across a copper line can become a bottleneck for enterprise access and ultimately revenue. This bottleneck oftentimes appears in metropolitan area networks. Optical fiber, specifically single-mode fiber, alleviates this problem offering a substantial amount of bandwidth.

The VelocityKVM Distance (up to 40 km)
Single-mode fiber is best designed for longer transmission distances, thus ideal for multi-channel television broadcast systems. Therefore, single-mode fiber may be used to send video signals from room to room, floor to floor, building to building, studio to transmitter (STL). The VelocityKVM allows for video and peripheral transmission distances up to 40 kilometers, making it an ideal solution in metropolitan area network.

Advanced Top Quality Video Transmission
It is evident that single-mode fiber is emerging as a logical solution for next-generation television signal routing. The VelocityKVM harnesses this capability and ensures long distance, error-free transmission, with no frame or bit dropping and complete immunity to interference the end result is no degradation of the video and peripheral signal whatsoever.

The System
Each system consists of a transmitter and a receiver connected by single-mode fiber optic cable. The transmitter unit connects to the computer with suitable cables and the receiver unit provides connections to the user interface devices. The VelocityKVM is capable of supporting PS2, full duplex stereo audio, serial (RS-232), USB 1.0 (HID) device ports, and USB 1.1.

The Options
The VelocityKVM 10K – Offers DVI video and peripheral extension up to 10 kilometers, plus:
  1. USB 2.0 option
  2. One single-mode fiber
  3. Two DVI Video channel option
  4. Dual-Link option

The VelocityKVM 40K – Offers DVI video and peripheral extension up to 40 kilometers, plus:
  5. USB 2.0 option
  6. One single-mode fiber
  7. Two DVI Video channel option
