How to connect Two Computer for LAN Gaming

    Hi,
Me and my friend have Counter strike game and we don't have any Internet connection. We are planning to set up a LAN connection to play games. Network port is available and so is WiFi. But we don't have any internet, just willing to play games on LAN or else on Wireless LAN. Is it possible to make connection of Two PC's and if it is possible then what things are required to set it all up?

My understanding is, if you have 2 NIC on game server, you can use cross over cable to connect to two different machines directly whether you are using static IP's or getting those through Wireless line.

If the machines are reasonably modern then you can just plug each end of the LAN cable into each of the machine's ethernet ports. Each port has a green light and an orange light, if both green lights turn on then it's working. If not, then it means the cards are old and you'll have to use a crossover ethernet cable instead, which you can pick up from your local computer store.

Once you've got a proper connection follow the usual steps for setting up a network. Good luck!
