    Connecting through lan with switch

Thought to connect wirelessly to 2 friends who both live in the 30m distance.
We have just now taken the networks with Internet connectivity and would continue to have it fixed to play and share files, etc.
    How?
(we have d-link 524 routers in our existing Lan)

For interconnecting multiple networks like that needs well-POPs. I do not know if your routers have been brewing operation. For the best speed I would recommend cable between the routers (LAN ports) if possible.

But IP configuration, I can explain.
Once you (somehow) got together to network, so the DHCP server in each router and switch off each router should have different IP: (eg 192.168.1.1, 192.168.1.101 and 192.168.1.201)

Then put all the computers in every home in to connect to its own router (ie set the IP: as the default gateway). Although the DNS server may be set to the router.

Then each person go through their own broadband when they come to things outside the local network.

Or you can run yoor "LAN" via the Internet using Hamachi. Or by using Limewire direct connect. Limited by your Internet speed....but smooth IAF.
