Frequent disconnections inspite of good signal reception

Despite with good signal reception, I am facing frequent disconnections, difficulty logging etc with my connection.

Have checked the router several times but everything seems normal. No conflicts of IP on my laptop. The tests were carried out by disabling antivirus and firewall. Also tried with a USB WiFi adapter, the signal is having identical symptoms. I am having Compaq laptop with Windows XP installed.

    Need your opinions?

What do you mean by good signal reception? Is it closest to the source wifi?

    Solutions:

    1. Change the channel.
    2. Check that this is not a "utility" which manages the wireless connection.

May be due to some wireless system like microwave, wireless phone which is disrupting the signal.

    @ Fabian
Yes, this is closest to the source of wifi. I will check if there is a management utility connection.

Also I tried a free wireless terminal (as in Inorbit, for example) to see if the problem is really with the PC. But it is really strange because there is not really disturbing signal device. The reception seems good but the connection impossible.
