Router Timeout problem

Hello Everybody, I Recently bought a new WiFi Netgear WGT624 108Mbps Wireless Router + Firewall after my engineer friend set it up for me last month it was working fine. but now I'm having problems as it is wireless. whenever the ping timeout to the router appears, my online browsing stops for 6 seconds and then resume again. Otherwise, it's working properly. my friend is out of town so i thought to seek help online. Is there anyway to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Router Timeout problem

Most probably it seem to be router software (firmware problem). does this problem started recently? if 802.11x Authentication is selected in wireless NIC (computers, not the router) configurations, this can cause repeating disconnections. just check it out and get back here again if you any problem.

Re: Router Timeout problem

ok, other thing what you can do is try to hard reset your router? (but remember this will wipe out all the settings you done to the router) Might be due to router software problem also? not too sure Exactly.
