It is the turn of ZyXEL to unveil new equipment last-generation networks. The manufacturer offers a complete solution using the CPL and the other a range of WiFi routers N.
Remember that the PLC technology enable a computer network using the existing power grid. The 802.11n meanwhile, also called WiFi N, is a standard being ratified which allows data rates and extend the scope permitted by the current 802.11g.
The first solution includes a router connection to double CPL / WiFi adapter and a strip CPL.
The NBG-318S is a router that has, in addition to its Ethernet connection for connecting a modem or a box, WiFi Super G (which in theory reach 108 Mbps) PLC and HomePlug AV (allowing ' reach for its 200 Mbps).
The PLA-491N for its part is connected to an electrical outlet and includes 4 outlets with noise filter which guarantee the stability of the PLC network on its 4-port Ethernet. It is thus possible to place modem and router in one room and equipment in another by avoiding duplicative cables and devices. The router and the strip are marketed 60 and 140 euros.
The range of routers is available in two models that use the preliminary version 2.0 of 802.11n. They support WPA and WPA2 encryption and the WPS function to connect equipment securely at the push of a button.
