    dumprep 0-k in startup

What is the use of "dumprep 0 -k"? In the startup tab in msconfig dumprep 0 -k is present. Could this be a trojan of some kind? How would I get this off my computer? And my systen is also too slow. Please give some help.

It is a part of the Windows error reporting tool. Realistically you should submit the error reports, you'll quite often get taken to a webpage with a fix for whatever it is that's making it fall over, if its caused by software.

dumprep 0 -k is not necessary for startup. It is usually run infrequently and can be started manually if needed. While a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer starts, the Windows XP-based computer may run slowly. Additionally, you may receive Dumprep.exe error messages. This issue is typically caused by hardware issues or damaged registry entries.

To disable the Dumprep.exe tool :

    1. Click Start, click Run, type msconfig in the Open box, and then click OK.
    2. Click the Startup tab.
    3. Click to clear the dumprep 0 -k or dumprep 0 -u check box, and then click OK.
    4. Restart the computer.
