Lan port not working

Hi,
I have Lap port which is not working!
I mean its being detected but Don't work. I cant obtain network IP address subnet mask etc. It just says UNAVAILABLE. So what is my problem?
Do i have to install driver for it to work properly.
OR
I will try to install the driver all over again?

OK can you tell us your Operating System? & how you know that the lan card is being detected?

If you knowe its there & connected Then you can right click on it & see the status & enabl;e it if its disabled.
Also you can see in system tray if there is any symbol on the 2monitor icon Something like an yellow (!) mark or red (X) tell us if you see something like that!
