Hello, if someone can tell me how to set up a VPN to a network on an equal footing with Windows XP and with dynamic IP on the client.
Thank you
Well, it is quite long, and XP has help quite interesting in this regard. But I will try to explain it.
Step 1: Setting up the server.
* Go to Start -> My Network Places -> View network connections -> Create a new connection.
* When you open the Wizard, click Next and select Advanced Settings -> Next -> OK incoming connections
* Do not mark anything on "devices for incoming connections." Click Next.
* "Connecting virtual private network (VPN) incoming." Click Next
* Now, we must define a user with access permissions. You can define one already created, or create a new one (in this case will be asked username and password)
* We select the user you will be allowed to connect. Click Next, let protocols as they appear, and click Next.
* End of the configuration of the server.
Step 2: Setting the client
You will be the PC from which to access the server just set in the previous step.
* Go to Start -> My Network Places -> View Network Connections -> Create a new connection
* Click Next. This time, select Connect to the network in my workplace "
* Choose "Connecting to the virtual private network" of the two that appear.
* Defining a name for the connection and click Next
* Now you must enter the host name or IP remote server. In other words, server configured in step 1.
* Click on Next and Finish
* Now, within Network Connections, a new group called "Virtual Private Network", and within this group, the new connection. Double-click on it.
* When you open the dialog box, enter username and password
* Click on Properties, to make some minor adjustments needed.
* Go to tab "Functions network"
* Select the TCP / IP protocol and again click Properties. Select "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Get DNS server address automatically". OK
* Go to Advanced Options. Remove the check the box "Use the default gateway of the network remotely"
Step 3: Setting up ports
The server must be accessible by TCP ports 1723 and GRE protocol.
Or, UDP port 47
To do so, we need to configure the router and firewall you have installed on the server. And as this depends on what you have installed router and firewall, and I can not continue ...
With this, you should be able to access the remote computer.
Greetings. Luck.
Thanks for the explanation !!!
