DNS issue

When i try to connect to any site say Yahoo, it says "could not find host yahoo.com". But if i put its IP address and try to connect, the site opens. I also used NSLookup on Yahoo and i am able to get IP correctly which means that NS Lookup is also working fine. So i suspect theres some problem through the DNS. I also checked with different DNS servers abd different types of connection. But no use.

You must have been running zone alarm on your system. Or it must be active and you are unaware about it.

Setting all the DNS servers to open dns might solve this issue. Try it. Open DNS.

No, the zone alarm is not active. I have also disabled the firewalls. Even not installed any antivirus software.

Clean the cache of DNS. Do it in this way,

Start -> Run -> cmd -> ipconfig /flushdns

This will remove cache from DNS.

Now in the cmd, type -> ipconfig /registerdns

After this, try pinging again.
