How to uninstall Norton Antivirus completly?

Hi,

I know that Norton's Anti-virus can be removed from Control Panel's Add or Remove Programs but there are some files which doesn't get deleted. I'm think space? thinking registry cleaning and all that. Are these extra steps required? or recommended? I want to remove it completely.

Hi,

Norton and McAfee are both notoriously hard to remove on a good day and no anti-virus program I know of plays well with others. So you will need to get Norton uninstalled if you wish to use another anti-virus program. Well, First Click Start > Programs > Norton AntiVirus, and then click "Uninstall Norton AntiVirus 2003" or "Uninstall Norton AntiVirus 2003 Professional Edition." Click Remove, and then follow the on-screen prompts. Click Yes or "Yes to all" as needed.Lastly restart the computer when prompted.
