Product key for office home and student 2007 is incorrect

There is something wrong with the product key that has been supplied with copy of Office Home and Student 2007. Whenever i try to enter the key and proceed, i get an error message saying "Incorrect product key".
I have made sure that i am entering the key as it is but no luck. I don't know what to do, how can i get it registered??? Isn't there a way to recover the actual Product key.
