missing microsoft office document imaging - virtual printer

The mdi printer has disappeared. It appears it dissapears after a MS update.
How do I get it back, and how do I prevent it from disappearing in the
future. Thanks for your help

I had same problem, agree with your suspected cause, but didn't take time to
trouble shoot and confirm. I did however successfully reinstall the MODI
feature using this appraoch: With all MS Office 2003 applications closed I
unstalled the missing MODI printer via the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs,
change Office 2003 Office Tools to make the MODI Not Available, then upon
successful upating message I reinstalled the MODI feature by selecting the
Run from My Computer option in Office Tools

Thanks for the reply. I attempted this. I could find no way of simply
uninstall/install the MODI portion. I attempted removing and reinstalling
Office 2003 and selected Run from my Computer for MODI and it still didn't
work. I have found the MODI virtual printer to be very helpful, but have had
to go through this process several times. Are there any Microsoft people who
understand what is going on. I'm ready to give up on this feature. Thanks for
the help.
