error 25004

As my title says, Today I download Ms Office Pro 2007 edition and received this Error message (Error 25004). It appears like the package is trying to install as per-user, instead of per-machine. Can anyone here please tell me how can I set the program to do a per-machine install? Many thanks.

First of all I dint understood your problem. I mean, are you getting that error message while download Office Pro 2007 or while installing the same on your PC?

Sorry for the incomplete post. Actually the error is occurring while installing the office suite. Installation goes fine upto 55 percent but then suddenly gives me error 25004 and quits the installation. My system is Windows XP Pro SP3.

Please help.

I'm a little confused with the error 25004 with Microsoft office 2007 in Windows 7. looking at the replies some are talking about another error 25090. My problem is error 25004. I had this problem about 2 months ago and no one seemed to be able to give a staight answer to the problem, not even microsoft. The first time I had the problem the only way I could find round it was to format the hard drive and start all over again. The problem has since reared it's ugly head and again no one can tell how to combat it or why it is happening. But I have solved for myself by down loading and installing OpenOffice Org now I can still use my old letters etc with out any problems. Microsoft should get this problem sorted out.
