Word 2003 Stopped Working

Having an issue with Word 2003 on one of my Vista systems.

I installed Office 2003 Pro. Excel, Outlook are both working fine. Word -
however - seemst to crash before even starting. I have not ever been able
to launch it outside of safe mode. I searched and can only find Italian
people having this issue.

(My other Vista system works fine with Office 2003 as does one of my Win2K
systems.)

Well, I went ahead and uninstalled MSOffice then reinstalled but did not
upgrade to SP3. It works now.

I will wait for SP 3.11 to come out. :P

I have the same problem: Word 2003 quits automatically at start up on a vista computer. i think it may be related to Office SP3. I tried numerous things upon reading various tech forums to no avail. (Originally I thought it was a conflict with Acrobat 8). Finally, I reinstalled Office and did not update it to SP3, and the problem seems to have gone away (for now). Word is working fine.

Still, I'd welcome additional advice for how to both update my Office to SP3 and not have the problem with Word.

FYI, I am not a techie by any stretch of the imagination. Just wading my way through Vista hell.
