Excel 2007: General Mail Failure. Quit MS Excel, restart the syst

I get this message when I am in any excel file and try to go to office
button, send and select email. For some reason it wont let me send an email
from within the office programs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have mapifix. When I try to run it state "Windows cannot find
'mapifix' is this located on a cd with office or anything.

The proper utility name is fixmapi not mapifix. Type fixmapi in the Run
box, that should resolve the problem you are experiencing.

I am sorry but that does not work either. I am still getting the same error
message. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah here too none of these things worked. I worked all day trying to
find a solution.

Finally I ran the "Microsoft Office Diagnostics" located in the "Start
Menu/All Programs/Microsoft Office/Microsoft Office Tools/Microsoft
Office Diagnostics". It found one problem and fixed it. Tested using the
"File" "Send" option in Excel and Word and no more error message. That
finally fixed it.

By the way the user's that I support that are having this issue are
running Windows XP SP2 with Office 2007 Pro Plus.

If nothing is working for you then i will advise you to run the "Microsoft Office Diagnostics". Just get into the Start menu> All Programs> Microsoft Office > Microsoft Office Tools > Microsoft Office Diagnostics and run the same. It will detect the problem if found will correct it automatically. So try this out and let me know whether it is working for you.

The diagnostic is finding no problem. But I'm having a problem. I can't launch Outlook from any application. I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. I don't remember having this problem with WIndows XP.

Here is something odd. For example I can launch Outlook from a Word document that I've launched from an Internet Explorer page.

You can try to go to Start-> run.. then type the following - > "Outlook.exe /resetnavpane" and that should asolve your problem. Another way to fix this is to do a system restore. Below is a link to those instructions.
