| Language Interface Pack (LIP) for Vista Home Premium?
Anybody know how to set up the input language to Korean as well as in English? I've found Language Interface Packs (LIP) for both XP and Vista Ultimate.... but not one for Vista Premium... for Korean anyways. How's any bilingual person using an American Vista supposed to conduct business with language limitations like this anyways. I'd appriciate any input! |

You can only do this if you have Vista Ultimate or Enterprise. With Ultimate, you can download the language packs for free. Just open Windows Update, choose "view available updates", and check the language pack you want. Afterwards, from Control Panel (categories view), just choose "Change display language" under "Clock, Language and Region". Pick your language, log off, log on, and done. If you have another version of Vista other than those two, you'll need to purchase a "full version" of Windows Vista in your desired language and perform a "clean install" or install it on a separtae hard drive or partition. -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User --------------------------------------------------------------- "grace" <grace@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:30086DAD-66CB-48EA-AAC6-6AE4869E2A23@microsoft.com... Thanks for the quick response... I guess that answers my question. It's irritating though. I didn't realize these limitations. I've had this computer for only two days, and now I've got to figure out if I need to install a Korean Vista. Uhg! This page focuses on Japanese and Chinese primarily but it would be worth following the instructions to see whether Korean is available as an input language. I don't really know, but I suspect Carey's suggestion may apply to converting Windows itself (ie, all menus, icons and so on) from one language to another, as opposed to simply being able to enter text in a variety of languages on an English system. Go with whichever answer suits your needs. <g> -- Steve Rindsberg, PPT MVP PPT FAQ: www.pptfaq.com PPTools: www.pptools.com ================================================ |
