Unable to open links

Hello

I am unable to open links in Word documents (2002). When I click on any
link using "Ctrl", the appears quickly as if it wants to open and closes.
Popup enabled.

Thanks

Best

RE: Unable to open links

Hi Best,

Are you able to open links in other applications (such as the links in a webpage in IE, the links in an email message in Outlook 2002)?

Perform the steps below to see if it works.

#1 check the Internet options setting
===========
Go to Control Panel > Internet Options.
In the Programs tab, click Reset Web Settings.
In the Advanced tab, click Restore Defaults.
Click OK.

Test the issue. What is the result?

#2 Start Word safe mode to see if it works fine
======================
Under Word safe mode, it doesn't load the third party add-ins, the global template normal.dot, Word setting registry keys, and the files
in the startup folder.
1. Click Start menu > Run.
2. Type winword /a, click OK.

#3 re-register Word
=============
Click the Start menu > Run > type winword /r, click OK. When the process finishes, test the issue again.

#4 check addins.
================
Go to Start > Run > Type regedit, click OK > if you find any sub key under the following registry key, please backup the Addins key and
then delete the sub keys under it.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Word\Addins\
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Word\Addins\
If anything is unclear or if you have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Emily Lin
