Automatic File name path for Word 2007

I am using Windows XP but have Word 2007 on my personal home computer
previously I had Word 2003 but was able to go to the Insert Button and
Automatic Insert my file name and path in the bottom of my document. However
I have searched the Insert on Word 2007 along with the footer and don't see
that option. Can someone please tell me how I can do this automatically
without typing it all the type and accidently leave out one of the paths.

Try typing:

filename a

(short for "filename and path")

and press F3. This will convert the AutoText entry (which is named "filename
and path") into the appropriate field.

To use the ribbon interface... Insert ribbon tab - Quick Parts - Building
Blocks Organizer, click on Filename and path, then click Insert.

If you use the New Document dialog box and search for "Filename and path"
you should be able to find a template I created for this purpose. Create a
new document based on the template and then follow the instructions provided
to copy them to your copy of Building Blocks.dotx so they can be used on any
document.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email cannot be acknowledged.

I just learned it, from Dawn Croisier, Word MVP:

go to Insert tab; go to Quickparts command; select Field; locate the path
field, check it.

If you do it often, edit a macro

Or create a Building Block. Here's a template that has Building Blocks for
the file name and path along with instructions on how to copy them to make
them available to all documents:

Is it easy to copy templates or autocorrect text to another machine? I guess
not, that is why I prefer to use macros. There is an option to export them...

How could I construct a macro to copy the text of a file into another file?

re: Automatic File name path for Word 2007

Hi,

It was possible earlier to know the file path by simply right clicking on the toolbar and select the web toolbar which will show the file path.

May I know how can we get this in Word 2007 ?

Also is there any intuitive concept which I am missing and asking this question? Please help.

Thanks,
