Outlook 2007 error Data file not closed properly

Whenever I try to open Outlook 2007 I am getting a popup on the screen. The popup tells that data file did not close properly. I am trying to fix that but still it looks to be not working properly. And the performance of system is affected. I cannot understand why the error appear on the screen. But outlook works fine for start later it crashes again.

There are some common issue behind the same. For that first you have to shutdown Outlook. The things that you need to do is first check that there is no third party application that is synced with outlook and using it. You have to run a repair setup of Office That is one of the best way to fix the issue with office applications.

I think the issue lies with antivirus. In my system Outlook was failing due to antivirus installed on my system. I am using Nod on my system. But when I removed NOD things were working fine. There was no issue with the same. I had switched my antivirus to AVG and it is quiet working good. I had seen on many other threads that the problem lies with ESET mostly.

I am also having this same problem. I just installed Windows 7 and the only other program I have installed is Office Enterprise 2007 and Outlook Connector vs14. I find no evidence of Windows OneCare, or Adobe anything. I haven't even installed an Anti-Virus program yet. I just really needed my emails downloaded. So does anyone have any other suggestions that I can try? I appreciate any help you can give. Carole Saylor

I have seen many of such cases on internet. Currently, I can see some below mentioned causes for this. So check if any of the reason is true in your case.
    • Shutting down Windows previous to Outlook.exe process has exited.
    • Third party add-ins indecently closing the data file.
    • Crashing of Outlook.
    • Non-Outlook process accessing the data file.
