Office 2003 constantly pauses "to wait for printer information"?

I have HP 1320 printer, its attached to another machine and we use it as default printer. Everything was working fine by now but for some reason simply cut paste tasks are pausing for 20 seconds while Office keeps on waiting for the printing information.

Any idea what might have gone wrong ? Is there anything i can try out to fix it ??

I had the same problem I am guessing that your computer has a mixture of printers from multiple locations. If one of these printers is on a network and it is selected as the default printer, then the computer might be trying to Query the network & failing. The solution I used to resolve my issue was to simply change the default to a printer that the computer "knew" was offline.
to do this you simple go to:
Control Panel->
Printers & faxes
Now, find a printer that says "offline" and Choose it as the default.
... I know this isn't the most eloquent solution, but it will work Until someone who knows more can help you. Good Luck
