Why everytime: "Initializing the Root Folders Display"

I recently installed Office 2007 Professional on one of my Vista running laptop. Installation went fine but now when I open any office application and try to browser from inside menus, or try inserting any image in the Word document, it gives me an error message saying

    "Initializing the Root Folders Display"

I don’t know what could be the reason but most probably I guess it is initializing the Root Folders every time. Can anyone here please tell me how can I get rid of this permanently? Many thanks.

have you tried running a detect and repair from the add and remove items list?

Anyways, until you reply, just try out these steps: Go to Desktop, right click My Computer. Now click Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped drives that are not currently available. See if you still getting the same problem.

Couple of months ago when i was struggling with the same problem. In my case while installing a printer it automatically added a card reader as a network drive. That was creating the issue for me. I simply removed the same from network drives and problem disappeared. So see if this is the same in your case.

Thanks all! This has been a real nagging intermittent problem which I've been putting up with for months now.
