Cannot install Office 2007

I recently bought a brand new laptop which came pre-installed with XP MCE 2005 and Office 2003. Yesterday I download Office 2007 from MSDN Subscriber Downloads page but when I’m trying to install it on my laptop, it gives me the following error message:

"Setup is unable to proceed due to the following error(s):
The 2007 Microsoft Office system does not support upgrading from a prerelease version of the 2007 Microsoft Office system. You must first uninstall any prerelease versions of the 2007 Microsoft Office system products and associated technologies. Correct the issue(s) listed above and re-run setup."

Can somebody please tell me what could be the problem and how can I fix it?

The cause of that error message is very obvious. As this is a new laptop it would have come with TRAIL office 2003 suite, right? And you much not have any trail office version installed on your system before installing Office 2007.

SO what you need to do is first uninstall Office 2003 from Add and Remove, then run Disk Cleaner to remove the traces, restart the laptop and then install Office 2007. It will work fine. Apart from this if you have Expression Web Designer Beta 1 installed, you will need to remove the same.
