Can't copy to clipboard getting error "Item Not Collected"

Whenever i try to copy things to clipboard then i get an error message saying "Item Not Collected". The clipboard in the systray appears with a red circle and x icon. Is there any thing that i can try to fix it??? I need to fix it soon, so a quick help will be very appreciative.

Its not actually an error message but it is a simple notice. Office clipboard icon in system tray is controlled by the settings options that is in Clipboard taskpane.

I think you might have messed up something because of which you are getting that error. You can refer to the below knowledge based article below:
Copy and paste multiple items by using the Office Clipboard

If that doesn't help then you might have to try out repairing MS office or even reinstalling it.

Re: Can't copy to clipboard getting error "Item Not Collected"

I am also facing a weird issue with excel. It is not able to collect the items to the clipboard same in Word. I am able to copy and paste single but unable to copy multiple items to the clipboard to paste in single. It also happens in ms word at the exact time but onenote which is installed differently will copy to the clipboard properly. I am running Office 2007 on Windows 7. Thanks
