    Task 'pop3 - Receiving' reported error (0x80040900) in MS Office

    I am getting the below error message if I am clicking on send/receive button to get the mails. When I am sending the mails then I cannot find any issues but if I want my mails to be downloaded then I am getting the below error message? Can anyone please let me know how to solve this issue?

    Task 'pop3 - Receiving' reported error (0x80040900) : 'The server name you entered can not be found on the network (it might be down temporarily). Please verify that you are online and that the server name is correct.'

    That is not a Office error. You will need to contact your ISP for the same. You can contact him and ask for the right pop or smpt server details. Once you add them you can simply configure the mail client. It will work fine. And if you think that your settings are proper you can try reconfiguring the account by deleting the old one. It is necessary that your settings must pass the test to finalize the settings.
