How to fix Excel error message cancel editing mode

Can not insert new graph in power-point. get message to first close opening box or cancel editing mode in excel. Could you please help.

Are you using anykind of macro while working in powerpoint or anyhow you had linked both the application with a vba code. Then you will need to disable the same and then try back to work with Excel.

Edit mode is a kid of Vba thing which enables to work with vba codes in Excel. For a easy fix if there is no major code running you can try to re-install Office one time again and then check back.
