Microsoft Excel 2007 fails to open DBF File

I have open a DBF file into excel 2007 so the columns with date format its returns:
    • FEC_VEN
    • 05/01/2011
    • 07/01/2011
    • 20110107
    • 20110108
    • 09/01/2011

I changed the regional configuration in the system, and the trouble still. then I have open the file on another system (PC with excel 2007) and the columns with data format shows me perfectly.

There is a way you can do this. You can try converting the dbf file to .xls and then open it in Excel. This will surely work. But then you might be bit annoyed to convert the same back to dbf and import in database tool.

Excel supports .dbf file format. For that you just need to open it in the Excel. If this does not work then there can be issue with the file. Try to download the file back again and test it. There are many third party dbf reader which can help to edit and modify dbf file.
