How to get side by side row labels in Excel 2007 Pivot Table

In Excel 2003 I could add 2 data elements to the Row label area of the pivot table and both items would show up on each row in a different column, in 2007 all items in the row label box show up in the same column. I would like to go back the 03 way, any suggestions.
    Example Excel 03:
    • SSN Name Source
    • 123-45-6789 Bob Smith 1
    • 123-45-6789 Bob Smith 2
    • 123-45-6789 Bob Smith 3

    Eample Excel 07:
    • 123-45-6789
    • Bob Smith
    • 1
    • 2
    • 3

Re: How to get side by side row labels in Excel 2007 Pivot Table

I found the Classic View option gets me closer, yet the labels don't copy down to all rows. The row labels don't fill in for each row, nor did they in Excel 2003, and there's no way to change that behavior. To create a table with a heading on each row, you could copy the pivot table, paste it as values in another location, and fill in the blanks cells.

I had the same problem, and it took me a while to find how to fix it. Here is the steps of how to do the same.
    • Click on the field that is the upper level to the one that you want to move across
    • Go to PivotTable Tools, then Options
    • in the Active Field, select Field Settings
    • In the Field Settings box, select the 2nd tab 'Layout & Print'
    • Under 'Show item labels in outline form', Untick the box 'Display labels from the next field in the same column and Ok.
    • This should bring the fields side by side on the table.
