I am using a spreadsheet devised by someone else which starts up with drag and drop disabled, and so I have to go into tools/edit and change it. How can I reset the default so that it starts up enabled?

I think you will need to view the below links. This link provide reference for Excel default settings. I don't think that can be done via one click. It depends what changes you have made in Excel. There are more help guides on the link which can help you to configure Microsoft Excel more properly. If you are facing a error then you can try Office setup disc and run a Repair setup to replace the corrupt files.
Changing Defaults and Settings
Thanks for responding, Go!pee. Since posting, I've had another go at the imported spreadsheet, and discovered that if I disable the numerous macros built into it, the problem disappears, so I deduce one of them must be the cause. I'll have to plod through them sometime and figure out the necessary changes.
