Need help to remove shared workbook protection in Microsoft Excel

I have a shared workbook which is protected with a password. Now I would like to make a copy of the file and remove the "shared" function as well as the password. Unfortunately I do not have access to the password. I have the tried a password remover, but it does work for share protection. Any suggestions.

Can't you unshared the workbook first, then run code to unprotected the workbook.

No, this does not work because in the Share Workbook window I cannot deselect the "Allow changes..." button. I just saw that I forgot a "not" in my original posting. I tried some code which obviously does not work for the share protection. Otherwise I would not have the problem.

There is another way to fix it out. For the click on Microsoft Excel and then click on the Home tab. Now click on Format (cell) and at the bottom you can see protection. Click on unprotect and your job is done. You can also begin by making the exclusive workbook sharing by removing tools / sharing Sharing and uncheck Then Tools / Protection and Unprotect.

Try this out. This might fix the issue. I am not here to find out that you want to unprotect the book and if it has macro the below step will help you.
    • Start the Visual Basic Editor (Alt + F11).
    • In the Project window select the project VBAProject (filename) to unprotect.
    • In the menu bar click Tools and select Properties VBAProject.
    • Enter the password required.
    • In the dialog box that appears click the Protection tab.
    • Delete the password in the Password and Confirm password.
    • Click OK.
    • Save the workbook.
