How to remove the decimal point for cell in Microsoft Excel

I want to format numbers in the General category but Excel puts a decimal in the number and I not able to remove it; I have tried using the General and Number formatting fields but nothing is working, I just want to type in the year and or a general number that’s all. So if you guys have any suggestions then please let me know.

According to my information you just have to make the verification for the decimals check so that you have fixed decimals checked? If yes then make it unchecked, so for that follow this: go to Office Button>Excel Options>Advanced Tab>Editing Options section>Automatically insert a decimal point = uncheck. Hope this helps.
