The Address Book can use formats like vCard, LDIF, or CSV to import contact data that you save or export from other applications. You can use LDIF to export addresses from Netscape and the vCard format to export from Palm Desktop, Entourage, Outlook and other applications. The text format tab-delimited and CSV format can export data from most databases.

    Steps to Import Addresses :
    • Export addresses from another application using the vCard, LDIF, tab-delimited text or CSV (comma-delimited text).
    • When exporting files from tab-delimited text or CSV file, it is recommended to note the order of the information fields. If the file does not contain headings, these notes will allow you to manually identify the fields at later stages.
    • In case of export from Palm Desktop, use the presentation by column (default).
    • Make sure that the exported files. Txt or CSV files do not contain line breaks which can result in failure to import. Use a text editing application such as TextEdit, to find and remove the line breaks.
